华莱士 · 史蒂文斯（Wallace Stevens，1879—1955），生于美国宾夕法尼亚州的雷丁市，先后就读于哈佛大学、纽约大学法学院。一生视写作为纯私人兴趣，大部分生涯在康涅狄格州的哈特福德事故与赔偿公司度过，生活平静安祥。主要作品有《秋天的极光》《秩序的理念》《弹蓝色吉他的人》等。史蒂文斯是美国最重要的现代主义诗人之一，美国国家图书奖、普利策奖、麦克阿瑟奖等的获得者，被评论家称为“诗人中的诗人”“美国神话的一个重要部分”。
